Hold'Em Blackjack

We are proud to introduce a whole new game, combining the best from regular Hold’em and the popular casino game Blackjack. In this game you are competing against other players to make the best Blackjack hand after 3 rounds of betting.

As in Black Jack your goal is to get 21 and all picture cards count as 10 and the ace count as one or 11. It doesn’t matter if you get an ace and a picture card, or 21 by drawing several cards. If you get 21 in some way you got the best hand, only beaten by “7CardCharlie” which is what you have if you manage to draw 7 cards without busting.

Game play:

Choose your game:

HBJ is currently available as MTT and sit&go and is played with a maximum of 6 players on each table.

Card value:

Aces counts as one or 11.

Cards between 2 and 10 are worth their numerical value.

All picture cards are worth 10.

Rank of cards:

“7CardCharlie” (draw 7 cards without busting) is the best hand, followed by 21, 20, 19, 18 and so on…. If the two best hand have the same value, for instance 21, they will split the pot even if one of the players have made 21 by two cards and the other player with 3 or more cards. If everyone busts (getting more than 21), the best hand is the one closest to 21.

Blinds and antes:

These are forced bets that are automatically posted before any hands are dealt.

Betting:

The betting is a mixture of fixed and spread limit. For example a 200/400/400-2000 game is played like fixed limit the two first rounds of betting and the third round is spread limit where you can bet 400-2000, thereby making it possible to bluff more often in the end.

First round:

All players are dealt one card face down followed by a round of regular hold’em betting (fixed). (You can check-bet-call-raise or fold depending on your card and the action from the other players).

Second round:

The remaining players are dealt a card face up followed by another regular betting round (fixed).

Third round:

The remaining players now get the option to hit or stand to complete their blackjack hand. The cards you draw are turned face down so the other player will se ho many cards you decide to draw, but not if you bust or what cards you draw. You may continue to draw as many cards you like as long as you don’t bust. If you bust, you are still in the game and might find an opportunity to bluff your opponents, or if everybody busts it’s the player closest to 21 that wins. If you manage to draw 7 cards without busting you beat all players, even the ones having managed to get 21.

After all players have chosen stand it will be a third and final round of betting. This time there is a spread limit making it possible to make big bluff or value bet in the end.

Showdown:

The remaining players after the third round of betting shows their hand. The one with the best value according to the hand ranking wins. Ties split the pot.

Next hand:

After the showdown the dealer button moves clockwise just as in a regular Hold’em game and another hand is dealt.

Hint and Tips:

- Don’t play to many hands. Good starting hands are 10, J, Q, K and A.

- Remember that an ace counts as one ore 11.

- A loosing hand might be a winning hand if get all the other players to fold… Showing the ace up and not having 21 might be a good bluffing opportunity.

- Drawing several cards might help you getting the best hand. Drawing several cards also helps you to disguise your hand. But be careful, you might end up busting. Find the right balance.

- Having position is a key element in this game. You thereby see what your opponents do and how many cards they draw. This might help you to make better decision as you have more information.

- Having a “weak” card showing might be a good opportunity to trap your opponent if you manage to get a strong hand.

- Don’t try to hit to a “Seven Card Charlie” to often. The odds of making it are about 48.000 to 1.
